Gearhart is a lovely, quiet town located on the Pacific Ocean south of Astoria and just north of Seaside. The scenic soft sand beach is pristine and level-great for running, walking, body surfing, clamming, kite flying and beach combing.

Sometimes referred to as the “Cape Cod of the West”, Gearhart is tucked into the dunes that run along the coastline. With its small-town charm, it is a special place for young and old. Off the beach you can enjoy the garden, antique and gift shops, bakery, ice cream shop, restaurants, and art galleries. With no traffic lights, wide streets for walking and biking, public tennis courts, bowling alley and a park, there is something for everyone. Another special feature is Gearhart Golf Links which is the oldest public golf course west of the Mississippi.
